Udit Narayan got a lot of flak online after a video surfaced of him kissing a female fan on the lips.  He was performing "Tip Tip Barsa Paani" when a fan came onstage for a selfie.  She seemed to be going in for a hug or a cheek kiss, but Udit Narayan kissed her on the lips instead.  The video blew up, and the 69-year-old singer got a ton of criticism.
Now, Udit Narayan has responded. He said, "Fans are just so crazy. We're decent people, not like that. Some people show their love this way. Why make a big deal out of it? There are tons of people in the crowd, and we have bodyguards. Fans are excited to meet us, so some shake hands, some kiss hands...it's just their way of showing love.  You shouldn't pay too much attention to it."
He also addressed the online trolling, suggesting that some people might be trying to tarnish his image.  "My family has a good reputation, so people might want to create controversy. Aditya (his son) stays out of trouble.  Some people might see that. When I'm singing onstage, fans are passionate, and I want them to be happy. We're not the kind of people who do such things.  We just want to make people happy."
