The final LP of Savatage’s reissue journey: ‘Japan Live ‘94' was the band’s first-ever live album, recorded at Club Citta in Kawasaki, Japan, on November 12, 1994. The concert is a sonic snapshot of an important and significant tour. After experiencing tragedy and massive personal changes, Savatage stood tall nonetheless, proving their strength and power as a band. It portrayed the first (and only) Savatage tour featuring Alex Skolnick (Testament) on lead guitar and marked the first Savatage tour for drummer Jeff Plate. Most important, the tour saw “The Mountain King” Jon Oliva return to the fold, albeit in a supporting role for the first time, and also as a rhythm guitarist for the first (and again, ultimately only) time.

30 years later, the legendary performance is now being released as a newly mastered double LP vinyl edition on Friday, August 9th. This reissue of ‘Japan Live ‘94' marks the first time the show is available in its entirety in audio form, with all 16 songs in the show’s running order. A definite time-stamped souvenir.
