What can I say about King Diamond and his fantastic music that I have not already talked about in one of the previous covers I've done.

Well, for starters, I can tell you that it took me a while to get into this tune. Side A had me enraptured, but the Wedding Dream kind of threw me off and set the stage for everything on Side B with the exception of Something Weird, Victimized and Cremation. This one took a while (The Wedding Dream took longer), but the harmony started to creep through the thick padding inside of my brain, and I started to hear the absolute beauty of the piece. It is gorgeous horror. Absolutely fabulously written. Haunting. On top of it, as usual the playing of Andy and Pete sends shivers down my spine and puts fear in my heart when I think about attempting to replicate what they do. Sincerely, I have the utmost respect for that duo. Two of my favorite guitarists of all time. And it's not just the feel and complexity of what they play. Some of it isn't that complex. It's the tone and the touch that make it so tough. Considering that on the liner notes, they talk about Metaltronix amps and P.J. Marx, pickups... which are things you can't really get today on the regular, (especially the pickups). But, through much coaxing and tone shaping, it can be achieved. Still, though, a lot of it's in your hands. I do know that Andy was using stuff other than what was listed in the liner notes as well. Marshall Cabs with vintage 30s, and likely a modded Marshall head, which essentially is the Metaltronix, and a Tube Screamer to give it a boost. He did also use Seymour Duncans in some of his guitars. So let this be a lesson to you kids. It's not always what you read in the liner notes. Sometimes you have to dig a little deeper, and that kind of guitarchaeology pays off in the long run. Even still, your hands have more to do with it than anything else.

What's again, I'd like to thank you for stopping by and watching me play with myself. If you've learned anything or if you've enjoyed the performance, please leave a like and subscribe, and maybe say your piece in the comments should you feel the need. Finally, I'm very much looking forward to seeing King on the 25th of November! It's about time!

TIME!...
