Kind Diamond - Welcome Home (Guitar Cover)

Happy Halloween, everyone. My submission for a sweet Halloween trick or treat this year will be King Diamond's welcome home, but of course you know that because you're already here.

This was the first track I ever heard from King Diamond. A friend of mine named Melanie insisted that I would probably love the music and that it was awesome and extremely metal. I didn't know if I would like it or not, so I avoided it like the plague until I saw this come on headbangers' ball. And oh my god was I hooked from the very get-go. Pete takes the first lead, and this being the first lead I ever heard from either of these guitar players. Well, I can just tell you that the tone and the phrasing set me on a course for neoclassisms for the remainder of my days. To this day, it's still one of my favorite leads of all time. I think it is perfect. Andy's lead is something completely different, alien and awesome in its own right. Within a couple of months I had acquired Them, Conspiracy, The Dark Sides, and Abigail, and within two years from that I had picked up the Eye. I was absolutely tuned into this stuff. I loved it. I still do.

Without any further ado, I'm sure you're already listening to it. I do hope you enjoy this track. It has its own set of technical challenges. And I'm not going to do a how-to video unless asked for this one. I've got a few other things on my plate and I've got to get moving on.
