Give HOPE to kids going back to school and empower women on Houston Happens!

HOUSTON (KIAH) – Wake up, Houston! It's the first of the month! And in Houston Happens fashion, we are starting it off right, with some great guests on the way.

Back-to-school time is here, and with it comes the yearly scramble to get all the school supplies that kids need. That’s why Fort Bend County leaders are hosting a backpack and school supply drive. They’ll be joining Maggie live with more details on how you can help make sure every child has what they need to succeed in the new school year.

Chick-fil-A is stepping up its fight against hunger in Houston and other communities. The fast food chain is partnering with Hope Center Houston to help feed the hungry. We will hear from both organizations about their partnership and how they are helping people in our area who are struggling to put food on the table.

Plus, The Spoiled Latina is always helping the women in our community! This weekend, she is hosting a summit and will be stopping by to discuss her growing initiative! You don't want to miss this show!
