What's going on with MERCYFUL FATE?

On January 22, 2025 at the Metal Hall of Fame Gala in Anaheim, California, MERCYFUL FATE bassist Becky Baldwin was asked about the progress of the songwriting and recording sessions for the bands upcoming album.

"We're now in the process of demos. Instrumentally, it's almost there. So the next step is for King to get to work on it, but King also needs to release a KING DIAMOND album this year and then do a European tour. So it's like, yeah, there's an order that must be respected. Hopefully this year we can start with the MERCYFUL FATE album and finish it.

Lyrically, "The Jackal Of Salzburg", that song was already performed live. "King has done some really awesome stuff with the demo he's been working on and then, yeah, towards the end of the year, MERCYFUL FATE will probably release some singles."

So stay tuned for more MERCYFUL FATE music to surface at the end of 2025.
