If we want to industrialize the Moon then we’re going to need to use heavy machinery either automated or tele-operated from Earth, and we’re going to need to mass produce them, which means they need to be designed simply and made from local lunar resources. Why future space age technology might look more like it belongs to the 1950s than to the 2050s.
