Church of the Horned Moon - FAKE HEALER - MIKE HOWE TRIBUTE - METAL CHURCH

With the coming anniversary of Mike Howe's death, I have recorded a version singing Fake Healer as a tribute. Mike was one of my favorite vocalists. He automatically gained my attention back in the 80's with his performances on Blessing in Disguise. I guarantee there was not a happier man on Earth the day Mike decided to rejoin metal church. Being Bipolar and diagnosed with PTSD I am well familiar with the dark abyss of depression and where that can lead. As Jeff Bacerra from Possessed once told me, "Self-harm is never the answer." The day I found out about Mike's death was crippling for me in so many ways. Never would I have thought one of my all-time favorite singers would take his own life. I was confused and devastated. It felt like God, or the great simulator had opened my jaws wide and poured acid directly into me.

I've given Mike so many of my thoughts. Sadness still fills me every time I see his photos or hear the music he sang on. But there is also something else, a gift that we were all given - a fire that went out all too soon, but it warmed us all for so many years. Let's be thankful for that and cherish it. We can hold it close and dear to us and keep his memory alive by celebrating a dream Mike had and the incredible music he gave us. I understand many of you won't like my version of Fake Healer and that's fine. Everyone deserves to have their own opinion and I respect that. But to those willing to listen, it was an honor to sing one of Mike's tracks. This is my tribute to Mike Howe.
