九、结语
Chapter 9: Conclusion

前面在整体上,为大家介绍了一下发心的纲要。其实每部大乘经典,都可以作为菩提心的教材,可立足于菩提心进行诠释。无论是《华严经》、《金刚经》还是《大智度论》、《瑜伽师地论》,皆有各自完整的发心的方法,代表着不同的发心的层次。
In the previous chapters, I generally expounded the essence of generating Bodhicitta. In fact, every Mahayana scripture can serve as a textbook on Bodhicitta and can elaborate on Bodhicitta. Whether it is the Flower Adornment Sutra, Diamond Sutra, Treatise on the Great Perfection of Wisdom, or Foundation for Yoga Practitioners, each of them presents a complete method for generating Bodhicitta, representing different levels of generating Bodhicitta.
我们有幸听闻佛法,找到解脱生死烦恼的方法,实为多生累劫的福报。
We are fortunate to hear the Buddha's teachings and learn the way to liberate ourselves from samsara and afflictions. This is because we have accumulated merits from countless past lives.
无始以来,我法二执始终在伤害着我们,如果不能在修行上有所突破,同样的烦恼会尽未来际困扰我们,这正是学佛需要解决的根本问题。
Since beginningless time, the attachments to 'self in person' and 'self in phenomenon' have been harming us. If we cannot make a breakthrough in our spiritual practice, the same afflictions will continue to afflict us in the future. This is the fundamental problem we shall resolve through learning the Buddha's teachings.
与生命内在的改善相比,外在的一切都是短暂的,有如梦幻泡影。即使像国王那样坐拥天下,也不过是几十年的荣华富贵,于生命品质的提高并无利益。在无尽的生命的洪流中,修行是解脱生死的唯一途径。
Compared to the elevation of inner life, everything external is fleeting, like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, and a shadow. Even a king who rules the entire world can only enjoy a few decades of wealth and prosperity, which cannot help elevate his inner life. In the endless cycle of birth and death, spiritual practice is the only path to liberation.

就是要这样子。汉传佛教的面貌要有所全新的改观。
This is what we need to do. Chinese Buddhism needs a significant elevation.
现在全国各地也有很好的道场,修行的道场,但是他们有些只是从戒律上下手,那是不够的。
Nowadays, there are good Dharma centers all over the country. However, some only focus on precepts, which is not enough.
大乘佛法就是以菩提心为核心来展开戒、定、慧。没有菩提心你受菩萨戒也是白受,得不到戒体,只是研究而已。
In Mahayana Buddhism, we cultivate the precepts, concentration, and wisdom based on Bodhicitta. Without Bodhicitta, even if you take the Bodhisattva vows, you won't receive them. You are just studying the vows.
你烦烦恼恼的,研究戒律有什么意义?没有菩提心的话,你修禅定是外道,或者小乘。没有菩提心的话,也不可能生起大乘的空性智慧来。所以说离开了菩提心根本就不能叫大乘佛教。
If you have a lot of afflictions, what is the point of studying precepts? Without Bodhicitta, practicing concentration would be practicing the non-Buddhist or Hinayana path. Without Bodhicitta, you cannot generate the wisdom of emptiness in Mahayana. Therefore, without Bodhicitta, it cannot be called Mahayana Buddhism.
我们汉传佛教是大乘佛教。我们的汉传佛教要改观的话,必须要培养一批这样的人出来。一批啊!不是一两个,是要成就一批真正发了真实菩提心的人。我想我们的汉传佛教一定会改观的。
Our Chinese Buddhism belongs to the Mahayana Buddhism. To improve it, we need to cultivate a group of practitioners who have truly generated Bodhicitta. Please note that it should be a group of practitioners, not just one or two individuals. I believe that in this way, our Chinese Buddhism will improve significantly.
